Hi all...first of all apoligies ahead of time for my spelling.
So were to start? My name is Raven and I am a single mom with three amazing kids. I saw a need for more family oriented events/gatherings in this community. I wanted to create a support system for Pagan Families who are trying to include their kids in thier spiritual journies. I figured we could have get togethers, outings whatever you guys are interested in and...not be worried that it will be something thats inappropriate for our children. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to attend an event, to meet new folk but it wasn't kid friendly...and how many times I couldn't find a sitter...and couldn't attend an event, gathering.
I got to thinking this has to be a problem in the community. Is it hard for other Pagan parents? So here I am..."If you build it they will come." right? Lets see if we can't create a support of families in this community and put our kids on the front of our agendas. I know most community events are suppose to be family oriented but...I'm sorry I'm not seeing it...most of the time...I attend an event with my kids and there is virtually no kid activities planned...basically some peoples ideas of "family oriented" are...its o.k. to bring your kids, but it's your job to entertain them...heck...why don't I just stay at home with them...don't people without children know how hard it is to keep control of/entertain kids when theres no planning involved?nothing for them to do?
The whole sitation bites because I realy was excited about introducing my kids to new cultures and activities when this whole thing began for me...and along the journy...I was so disheartened to find, that most the events were not gonnia be for my kids...for families...so let's see what we can do about that shall we. Introduce yourself...what kinds of things would you like to do? Tell us...whatever...and all are welcome children...are all welcome.
